How did you hear about Pi Delta Psi?
Through word of mouth, mostly from one of the founding fathers of the Northeastern University Colony, Chris Tran. Everytime I saw him, he just kept saying good things about the Brotherhood and really connected with me.
Why did you join Pi Delta Psi?
I joined for the Brotherhood. I wanted people I could depend on, people I could look up to, and people who understands what it’s like to be a minority. I wanted to be with a group of people who acknowledges all of the hardships of being an Asian and promote unity through that common trait amongst all the Asians in the community.
Has Pi Delta Psi changed you since you became a brother?
Most definitely. I’ve become more active and vocal within the Asian-American community and have stepped up and gone further than I would have if I had not gotten to know the Brothers of Pi Delta Psi.
What is your most memorable moment since you’ve been a brother?
Seeing our roster of Brothers increase in tremendous amounts across the nation and seeing the impact that we as a Fraternity, has brought onto the Northeastern campus as well as all the other schools. It might be subtle, but the strength of the Asian-American community has exponentially grown since the founding of Pi Delta Psi at Northeastern and I can still see it geting stronger amongst all the minorities.
Do you have any words of advice for younger brothers and potential brothers?
Make good use of your time at school. It’s cliche and everyone says this but we say it because it’s true. The college life is awesome, use that time to make sure it becomes what you want and what you want to achieve. Go out and try to do what you can to improve the system.
